So. I've almost completed my 9mm build. I bought a 10.5" QC10 barrel, KX5 and 12" Midwest industries handrail. Bad part is the rail is actually 12.5" long. So my measurements are all screwed up. The KX5 barely pertrudes from the hand rail.

Should I get a shorter handrail to let more of the flash hider hang out or will it be ok you think?

Still need to fully tighted the muzzle device down on the crush washer but that should put it in less than another 1/16".

I like it... My buddy actually texted me a few hours ago wanting to build something almost exactly like that. almost flush with the guard using the KAK can..

That's how I built mine.  It has a 7.5" barrel with a KAK flash can and a 9" handguard.  It may have slightly more exposed than your pictures but not much.  I say go with it.

Cool. I figured it would be ok. I can't wait to shoot this damn thing and then stamp it!

My 5.56 pistol has a 7.5" barrel and a 9" Midwest Industries Keymod rail and a KAK can. The can didn't stick out as much as I had hoped initially, but after having it, I'm completely happy with how it is.
