I got my Better mag adapter in the mail today with a S & W 25 round mag.
I worked with a lower for about 2 hours trying to get it to fit. The better Mag Adapter had to be forced in and knocked out with a dowel and small hammer
I spoke with Boonie Packer and they had never had this issue. So I thought it was just my luck. I did a little sanding and it seemed to loosen some but was still a PITA to get in and out. After running out of options I took a longer look into how things were fitting together. Seems the Magwell has some weird ridge inside that the adapter was hanging on. (I did initially try a quick fit in other lowers and decided it didn't fit any better but I was wrong) Moral of the story, if the adapter has a hard time fitting, check the mag well closely. The little bit of sanding I did evidently knocked off the rough spots and the second lower I tried worked just fine. The adapter fit's in all my other lowers--RRA, Spikes, Bushmaster, and CMMG. With the small amount of machining Tim did to the Better Mag adapter, it fit the Taccom bolt just fine. AND IT WORKS 100% It never failed once. 1 round in the mag, 5, 10, 25. Empty mag. Didn't matter. The bolt easily and positively locked back every time If you want reliable bolt lock and a reliable, accurate .22 upper, the Taccom fills the ticket. The Better mag with the Taccom adjustment still works just fine with the CMMG bolt too. Dave N |

If Tim says he found a way to make it better, I believe him. However, did you try it in a different lower to see if you had the same issue? Yes I did. Only one lower had an issue. It's a ridge inside the magwell that wasn't machined properly. Another lower from the same manufacturer works just fine. Dave N |

If you compare the original against Taccom's you can see the difference on the rear of the adapter. http://www.redi-mag.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=52 |
