Hi.
In the persuit of building a 9mm upper I have the following question. Can I use a standard frontsight/gasblock for my build. I know the 9mm is blowback but I like the looks and I like to shoot with iron sights. The build will be done on a RRA flattop upper that will have a side charger build in to it and a top block for Glock mags. Thanks in advance for the input. |

This is made by my gunsmith in Holland.
He makes the bold also himself. He has some pics on his site but those are from a while back. He has been working on this project for a while now and has changed it a few times. Works like a charm now. If you want to take a look, try google with "verdoes techniek" Not mine. |

It's almost porn. I like the Troy a lot. But I really like the looks of the standard iron frontsight of the AR15 The pic's are of the rifle in progress but it will have a different hand guard. I was going for a YHM diamond FF carbine but now you make me doubt my self The lower is still in the machining stache and probably will become a partial fence for quick mag drops. I don't like the big knobs on the mag release so by taking off the fence I'll end up with what I got on my SP1 I really like the boldcatch button on the right of the lower. No warnings from the range officer of having your finger on/near the trigger when using the BAD lever. Hope yours will be a nice shooter. |

Looks like yours will be great! Love the side charger idea! Yea I'm just not sure how well the sidecharger will work. I've seen a bunch of complaints from people using a sidecharger with a 9mm build. The main complaint is that large amounts of gas are thrown right into your face while shooting. It's a shame because I wanted my 9mm build to be a sidecharger. |

Last monday we did some test shooting this rifle.
It runs flawless and the only gas felt came from the right side. I think we need the oval cap that's on the Colt 9mm to take that away. No gas what so ever from the left side. Because the charginghandle doen't move while shooting it keeps the rail for the charging handle closed. (non reciprocating ???) sorry for the bad english. Almost no recoil because of the lightweight bold and the recoilspring that'looks like the JP low mass. Very nice shooting. I will up date when the rifle is completely finished. |

Update.
Rifle has been coated and a Samson rail has been put on. Very nice shooting, very light recoil. It took all the 9mm Glock mags we could find. 17 - 19 - 26 and of course the 33 round mags. It has a German barrel and is very accurate. Using an Eotech at 50 meters we shot a group whitin 1" Trying to put some new pic's. http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/geweerschutter/media/s4016_zpsf3ceba22.jpg.html http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/geweerschutter/media/s4018_zps7939ab1d.jpg.html http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/geweerschutter/media/s4021_zpsa0c10f50.jpg.html http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/geweerschutter/media/s4026_zps62231d93.jpg.html http://s1278.photobucket.com/user/geweerschutter/media/s4028_zpsaa0cd0d9.jpg.html |

I think there will be no problem in selling it over sea's.
I think it will be a package deal with the top block and the bold as a package. Maybe it's best to contact him at www.verdoes-techniek-amsterdam.org You could probably order a complete upper also, for the lower is the weapon on your side of the pond. |
