What kind of groups can I expect from the CMMG conversion bolt at 50yards?  I am shooting irons. Shooting about an inch at 25 now.

a defininate must read. lost of variables man. depends on twist rate, ammo, and shooter. expect anywhere from 1.5" to about 6" depending on the ammo. most guys get about 6MOA or so.

I was just interested in general groups.  In other words what are the general size groups.

Thanx for bringing this thread up. In the first few pages you'll find info about conversions in standard AR-15 Barrels.
most of what is farther into the thread deals with dedicated 22 barrels and bolts for them. I did some comparisons at
one point that were high round count. There are rifles now like the currently Out of Production CMMG Tango that will
hit silver dollars all day at 100 yards with the right ammo. My smallest group at 100 yards with it, under 1/2", 5 shot.
A conversion at best could do 6-8" at that range.

Groups with a conversion bolt depend on your barrel and ammunition combo.

Generally 2-3" ant 50 yards.
