try a standard 9mm buffer or look up slash buffers, I bought a slash buffer and wolf spring but haven't finished my build yet to try out

One issue you may find with a blow back 9mm is breaking bolt catches.
Spikes came up with a plug that is inserted into the buffer tube, limiting the rearward travel of the bolt,
thus lessening the energy placed upon the bolt catch at the end of a mag.

The $1.75 in quarters also is very effective for this, I ran this method with a RRA buffer for some time.
In the last year, I bought a HeavyBuffers.com 9mm buffer and spring. The buffer is longer and does
away with the need of a spacer or quarters. Shoots very softly and reliably.

Can not recommend it enough.........Slash is also a member here as well. Many threads about these here.

The original spikes st9x is the longer one like the slash bid you can't find one the slash heavy buffer is the way to go

Slash Heavy 9oz with Wolff Xtra Power Spring

I started with a RRA 5.4oz buffer, worked fine when I was swapping multiple uppers on one lower but when I picked up another lower to make a complete rifle I upgraded to one of the Spikes ST-9X buffers (8.5 oz) and it really smoothed out the recoil quite a bit. If I had to buy one today I'd look at the Slash buffer. For a short while I tried the quarter spacer trick, it does make a difference and it only costs $1.75. I tried a Wolf xtra power spring with the ST-9X but it would occasionally shortstroke on all my 115gr factory ammo. If I were running +P or reloading hot loads I'd probably upgrade to the Slash 11oz buffer and the xtra power spring.

Slash buffer only way to go.
