Hello all, I have one of these units and am thinking about putting it to use but I only have 2 10rd mags. Does anybody know of a source for these or better yet, something else that will work?

The only place I ever saw the Air Force mags for a fair price was on the ARFCOM EE. I just saw one of the mags on Ebay that went for $60! Be kinda careful with the Air Force conversion unit -- if anything breaks I have no idea where you can get parts. I have one and I've got 3 mags and always thought it was a nice unit. For a while you could buy the complete unit with 2 mags here on ARFCOM  till the supply of them went dry about 10 or 12 years ago. I wanted to buy a second unit so I would have spare parts. Maybe somebody here will remember that a long time ago there was some type of mod you could do to (I think) the Ciener magazine so you could use it with the Air Force unit -- it gave you more capacity but you lost the bolt-hold-open feature.

I shot it today for the first time. It's very picky about what ammo it will shoot, because the firing pin spring looks like a coilover from a 58 Buick! It will NOT even put a dent in Aguilla subsonics but Rem's and Win. shoot ok. I guess I can get by with only 2 mags if need be. I may just put it back in the safe and use my M261 instead.
I guess I should add that my Geisle match trigger probably doesn't have the force that a factory trigger and hammer have.

One very good thing about using the M261 is there are parts out there for that unit and Black Dog makes some really nice mags for it. I have two dedicated 22lr uppers that use the M261 with the Black Dog mags with the follower that stops the bolt. That follower is nice because you can tell when you fired your last shot. Might want to just clean up the Air Force unit and pack it away -- may or may not be valuable in a couple more years.

Could you please elaborate on the "Black Dog" mags. where I could find some, etc. I looked on their website and almost everything I clicked on returned a "server error". Thanks.

Try this Black Dog Machine M261 magazines

edit to add; Looks like SpecOps-13 beat me to it and with a better URL.
