Had a look at the extractor in my 9mm Colt carbine; it actually looks a lot like it was pirated from the 1911 parts box.
It's obviously not controlled feed, as the breechface is recessed, so the extractor has to snap over the rim of the cartridge. Is this a part that is potentially likely to break because of the frequent flex? It just seems odd that a 1911 style extractor was used in this instance. Thnx, Moon |
