Picked up a brand new in the box 6450 a couple of weeks ago.  It wasn't on display because they had sold the buffer/spring/spacer out of it to a guy so I got it for a really good price..  I've replaced the buffer and spring with genuine Colt parts.  I'm having trouble finding an actual Colt spacer.  I'm really particular so I'd like to keep it all Colt.  I know I could use quarters or a wooden dowel, but I'm looking for the correct part.  I have searched with no success.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

I tried to get one of those too...to no avail.

I made several phone calls to Colt customer service, and they were no help whatsoever. They told me to go through Brownells. Then I called Brownells, and they told me they can't identify the part, they don't have it, and they can't special order it from Colt.

Then I called Colt customer service back (and waited another 25 minutes to talk to someone) and told them what Brownells told me; and they basically said "too bad".

I don't know how they stay in business with an attitude like that. (They're almost as bad as trying to deal with Bushmaster, in my experience).

I ended up going with a spacer from Spikes. (I think the dimensions of the two parts are identical or nearly so).

Real colt parts at:  specializedarmament.com. Check out the 9mm SMG section, it is the last item on the list.

I'm not sure what Specialized Armament means by the description "Spacer, Receiver Extension, 9mm SMG", but the corresponding picture doesn't look like the correct part.

In this thread is a picture of the actual Colt part.

That may well be the spacer found in a modern Colt but it sure as hell isn't what is in my original late '80s Colt.  Do you suppose that things might change through the years?  To the OP, you would probably be best served by stacking quarters until the desired limit is reached and then measure the quarters and cut your own spacer to fit.

That's exactly what I'm looking for.  I have another 6450 and it has that same spacer pictured.  The spacer for sale at SAW is different.  It appears to be the same diameter for the entire length  I can't even find a parts diagram or a part number

If you're still looking send me an email.  I've made a few of these out of 303 Stainless Steel.
