I just backordered a CMMG .22 upper with the revo handguard. Since I won't receive it for a month or three I was wondering if anyone who bought one recently could answer a couple of my questions?
1. Does this upper come with the BHOA? Or does it work without the BHOA? Will I need to purchase the BHOA for this feature to work? 2. Do all CMMG magazines work with the BHOA? If not, how can I tell if the magazines I am buying work with the BHOA? 3. Are there other manufacturers that make magazines that work with the BHOA? I understand that Black Dog does not activate the BHOA. Thanks in advance for any help! |

I do not think they come with the BHOA. Neither of my two CMMGs did. No other makers I know of have mags that will operate the CMMG BHO. No not all CMMG mags
will work it either. They have to be the ones for BHO. The early versions do not. The new Evolutions will and I think the version right before them. |

You'll have to buy the BHOA, and only CMMG Evo mags will function properly with it. I had to tune my bhoa a bit to get it to work, as a little extra metal sticking up at the top kept catching my bolt and keeping it from completely going forward. About 25 seconds with a grey rubber polishing wheel on a dremel and it works fantastic now.
