Hey All-

I have a Magpul BAD Lever on my Smith M&P15-22. It won't hold open last shot anymore. I am positive I installed it right.

Thanks in Advance-

The BAD lever adds weight to the bolt release. Sometimes it can effect the way your rifle operates, like no more bolt hold open on last round from a magazine.

If you find that it changes your rifle and don't like the change, remove the BAD lever.

Does it hold the bolt open without the BAD lever?
If it does then there isn't enough space behind the paddle or the BAD lever is too tight on the paddle.
At least on a regular centerfire AR it needs to be  loose on the paddle and wobble a little or it won't work correctly.

Yep. It holds open without it. I think it's catching on the lower a little.

Head over to the Smith & Wesson forums. If I remember correctly, under the M&P 15-22 section there was a thread about this topic 3 or 4 months ago. I don't think it was about the Magpul version, but from a different manufacturer. I'm now thinking the BAD levers might have problems with the 15-22 in general, but anyway a bunch of guys over there and the manufacturer were trying to figure it out, maybe they came to a solution that would work for you as well.

Here is a thread where they appear to have solved the issue. Link
