Could I replace the CF handguard with standard FF aluminum handguards?
That is, will a standard barrel nut fit over the barrel and attach to the DPMS low pro upper receiver? I have an extra 12.5" YHM Diamond FF I'm thinking of using. |

Nice, I'll see if the ULW uppers are available without the handguard.
I already have a nikon 4-12 prostaff, a bipod and handguard (as well as a megaton of CCI)...just waiting on the right gun. These look great, are so light, and seem to be very accurate. My 16" barrel Savage FV-SR II shoots 1-1.5" at 50 yards with Wolf MT, but I'm just not a bolt-gun person: (a) you don't really need the extra power of a bolt gun (in .22LR) shooting subsonic ammo, and (b) I like to just keep watching the target and pulling the trigger without having to shift things around. |

Call Tim he will work with you re upper sans handguard. The TACCOM barrel will most likely shoot same groups or better than your bolt gun with Wolf MT, mine shoots 1" at 50 yds w the same ammo. |

Yeah, the bolt gun (Savage FV-SR mark II) is great with the suppressor, and probably makes for a shorter package than the AR, but I just hate doing the bolt AND reloading after every 5 or 10 shots.
I think the AR wouldn't be much louder suppressed––just the bolt going back and some noise/gas escaping. I'll call/email him about the order. |
