How much damage can I realistically incur from using one of these in my nice, new AR?

Everyone loves to shoot cheap.. But I don't want my gun to go boom.. Spent a lot of money building it, you know.

It's a Spike's Tactical 5.56 Mid-Length Upper - M4 Feed ramps, 1/7" Barrel

I've heard bad things about gas tubes and a few posts about things blowing up. And leading of the muzzle break.
- If I'm SURE to shoot a few .223 rounds after the .22LR
- If I'm SURE to clean my chamber/bore, and run a boresnake through after every range session..

Should I have anything to worry about?

I'm looking into buying 1 of 3 things this paycheck. CMMG .22LR conversion, a decent sub $200 Scope, or a PA Red Dot /Vortex SF/ Bushnell TRS-25 Red Dot. What to buy?!

I like my .22 conversion kit.  No issues in 2 or 3 or 4 of the ARs I own/shoot.

However, in my son's AR15 .22 rimfire ammo badly leaded the barrel.  BAD.  He didn't know it till the accuracy went south with .223 ammo and we took it home to clean it.  It took a lot of work, time, brushes, patches, different solvents/cleaning methods to get it looking decent again.  Chrome bore, too.

Anyway, most of our rifles are fine with the .22 conversion kits.  They are fun (and cheap) to shoot.  We get decent groups at 25 yds.  I have one rifle that gets dime sized ten shot groups at 25 yards and that is the best shooting one I have.  I shoot cheap Remington or Federal jacked ammo in them.

None of them shoot to the same point of aim as they do with the .223 ammo.  One is 3" low with .22 ammo.  One is 3" low and 1" to the right.  One is 4" low and 2" left.  Etc.

I've bought 3 conversion kits so far.  I use the ciener mags that came with two of the kits as well as the black dog machine magazines that came with the other kit and the extra BDM mags. I bought (mags are like ARs, you just keep buying more - just in case).

We started out with a conversion only when we I decided to get into the rimfire AR platform for my Son. Never really had any serious side effects doing the dropin kit but we quickly decided a Complete CMMG dedicated upper was a better solution and we should have paid the extra to go that route in the first place. Just ended up costing me more in the long run. Accurracy is much much better too with the dedicated. We then were able to assemble him his own Aero Precision lower for around 150.00  later and that was even better yet. Very nice to have the complete dedicated rifle or atleast the dedicated upper; If you can afford the complete upper go that route. I think you will regret just buying the drop in kit,I did anyway. Best to just do it right the first time.. Thanks
