Hi, new to the forum. I've owned guns for years, hunted on and off - quail and such, deer, etc. Not much of a target shooter, but a decent shot. I went out to a friends place last weekend to look at some guns he was selling. He's a good buddy and is having some financial problems due to injury. I figured I'd help him out by buying a couple weapons and give him the first refusal if I sell them. I picked up a Ruger GP100 .357 with a 6" barrel and Rock River Arms AR-15 lower plus an Aimpoint 7000SC 4 MOA optic.
After poring over the forums here and talking to him I ordered a CMMG AR-15 Sierra A3 .22LR dedicated upper from Primary Arms: https://www.primaryarms.com/CMMG_AR_15_Sierra_A3_Flat_Top_Upper_Assembly_22_LR_p/cmmg10298.htm I really want to do some plinking this weekend, so I called them and they had already closed shipping for the day, but went out of their way to make sure my upper got shipped today so I'll have it Friday. Great price and great customer service! Then I online chatted with Joe Bob's: http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/ about a Black Dog Drum and they agreed to get my shipment out today too! Great service! So it looks like I'll have the drum and upper by Friday. I'm pretty pumped! I really like the AR platform. I'd never seen one in person before and after reading here, I'm sure my next step will be to build my own in a .223/5.56 cal. All the info I used in making my decision and where to buy came from reading the posts on this forum. Thanks to all of you that contribute!! Tom |
