I am building a 9MM SBR and using the Spikes mag block, very happy with it.  However, the mags are a bear to load. I tried a "UpLula" style loader, and it seems the pressure on the double stack just causes friction and is still difficult. I  have been told a HKS loader works, but not sure which model.  Can anyone help out?  Appreciate any advice\ including any loader you are using successfully.

Look for the "Colt" loader from Maglula. You can also use the bump method. After you load 10-15 rounds by hand, place the bottom of the mag on your lap, place the next round on the top of the previous ones you loaded and bump the the mag on your lap. The top round will fall in place .

Like this, make sure it's the Colt SMG version:

The lula for Colt mags is your best bet.  For those on a budget, you could tap the bottom of the mag while holding it vertically on a wood bench or table as you press a round through the lips.  You'll have to tap harder as the mag fills up.

This exactly. I meant to say Maglula "Colt SMG" loader. It is good to learn the "bump" method just in case you find yourself in a pinch. Whatever you do though, make sure that you don't drop that fully loaded mag on the floor or you will end up with a full auto mag fountain.
