Ok, Finally got the 9 up and running.

Anyone reload LEAD bullets for the 9?

I have a 16" barrel if that matters.

Only thinking about it because it is cheaper.

Yes pretty much all that I shoot 124 RN or TC have a slidefire stock shoot about 500 rounds at a time. Carbon and lube builds up pretty good but is easy to clean.

I tried cast bullets in the part and didn't find much love for them. Then I went to plated bullets, like Rainer and Berry's and they worked just great. Not much different in price and very affordable. They are easy to work with, shoot just fine and you don't get all that junk left behind in your firearm.

I use them in both my 9mm AR's as well as my other 9mm carbines and my pistols, good results in all.

Look here:

Berry's

Berry's is about $83 per 1K with free shipping. (Free shipping on these is good deal as the are heavy!)

or here:

MidWayUSA

Midway is out right now. They just ran a "black Friday" type sale and sold out of the 115's. They do  have the 124's which many prefer anyway, $83 per 1K.  OH, I helped them run out of the specials. 1,000 for like $62, couldn't pass it up. I run so many of them through my guns.

I've been casting my own and shooting them for years - 125 RN out of a lyman mould.

Overall, I don't find them any dirtier than plated or jacketed, but I get some lead buildup in the flashhider that needs to be cleaned out every thousand rounds or so.

+1 on the lead build up, I have had it machined out to just over 1/2" and it now lasts longer between getting clogged up. 3.6gr Bullseye is a nice target load for 125gr LTC / LRN
