I have been eyeballing the CMMG evolution kit

but i have noticed there is a "NO NOTCHED HAMMER" warning on the instruction paper that I was able to find online.

is this just suggestion or a MUST FOLLOW RULE?

is this a major issue?

is there any work around?

sorry for the newbie questions but I am very new to these kits and just trying to make sure I dont get something I wouldnt be able to use.

thank you in advance

Just over half way down this page, my post #2390 shows the hammers that are known to work or not to work with 22 conversions like the CMMG... Good Luck, Spec.....http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_15/441890_22_Conversions___Dedicated_22_s__22_Builds___Range_Reports__Ammo__Tips__Tricks__Insight_and_More_.html&page=11

It may work with a notched hammer.  No big deal if it doesn't, just buy a rounded hammer (cheap) and install it (easy).

You won't know until you try it. I have both notched and un notched. My conversion runs with both.

Thank you all for such fast responses

I found the Gisselle SSF on an ok list so I think I am good.

Now on to working out a auto trip-

Also I see the newer India evos also use a functioning  brass chamber lock,

Any pros or cons on that version? Is it worth it? And I also read some issues on the bhoa (black piece in upper mag well above the clip)
Needing to be filed or accidently getting dented or smashed on a poor closerer on the two halfs if not fully locked right, any truths to this?

Although most of the cmmg video reviews I have seen either don't run the above two mentioned parts, or are running a full auto version
Where they don't walk you through there internals.

I enjoyed the wooden dowel trip thread also on this site- I would like to see other and their functionality
There is a lot on this forum I am still working through so sorry in advance is this is doubling already discussed topics.

It just looks like a way to spend a great weekend on the range-I just dont want to buy a headach.

Anyone know if a LMT two stage will work? I want to run a short .22 barreled upper on my SBR. And don't want to get stuck with it if it will not work.

I'm fairly sure the LMT 2 stage has a rounded hammer. It should work fine. My CMMG 2 stage is whats in my first test rifle.
