I see that CMMG has their older .22 conversion kit and the newer one they call Evolution, is the newer one better in real terms and are either of them worth getting over another competitor's?  I have a CMMG upper now for my AR, but I'm 22tarded so if these are good buys lemme know and which is better, if not, whats a better alternative?

I had one of the older stainless steel conversions.  CMMG sent it for testing several years ago.
A friend just had to have it and couldn't afford much so I sold it to him cheap to defray some of
my ammo costs. He Absolutely Loves it...

Since that first conversion,,, I've tested so many variations of that original as conversions and as
dedicated upper bolts, I've lost track. All of them have functioned perfectly no matter which they
were or even if swapped between conversion and dedicated use...

The one conversion bolt that puts all others in the Dirt is called the India 22 Evolution Conversion.
It has a chamber adapter that locks into place just like a Standard AR-15 Bolt. It's keyed by the
Bolt Hold Open Assembly and is rock solid.... It's as close as you can get to a dedicated 22 upper
with just a conversion.....

The Stainless Evolution conversion has been consistanly reliable for me. I have several. The King of the Hill is the India. There is no better conversion.
The Evolution has cotter pin holding the firing pin, push pin holds the extractor(great for repairs in the field. No tools needed) Forward assist, live round extraction, the bolt is machine for optimal reliability and function with the BHOA (bolt hold open actuator.
So yes, it is much better than the old ones.
