The kinds folks at CMMG informed me that their kit will only reliably work with a 5 lb hammer spring (mil spec, they said), and that a switch to a 4.5 pound spring on the JP conversion *might* work. As I use my rifle for action rifle competition, I'd rather keep the hammer/trigger kit than the 22 conversion (which is a fine product when used with the correct components)
Just thought I would pass the info along.

I had the green JP springs in my lower. Could not
get the ammo to fire-lite hits- changed out just the
hammer spring to the red JP spring- has run just fine
since!

Perhaps I will try that-thanks! 'Smith said he would change the hammer spring to the 4.5# version just to see if it worked. I just hate to lose the snappiness of the JP trigger kit to shoot rat ammo. Haha
