Can anyone summarize the difference between the top and bottom loading 9mm mag block conversions from Hahn? Other than the direction they are inserted
Does only the bottom have bolt hold open on last round? Is one more secure or adjustable than the other? Is one less finicky? Which is faster and easier to install? |

I prefer the Hahn dedicated. No adjustment necessary and it uses the regular bolt catches. Mine runs like a champ. Also, use Metalform mags. ETA...and get a SMG Lula

I have the dedicated Hahn 9mm block in my in-progress 9mm AR pistol build. There is no worry about the dedicated block staying in place, I had to smack it in with a rubber mallet, then installed the bolt catch. It isn't going anywhere. I am still shy an upper, so I don't know how it runs yet, but magazines lock in securely without any wobble and drop free nicely (metalform 32 rounders, all I have).

| I've used both a Hahn dedictated and a Spikes Tactical block. They are both 100% GTG with metalform mags. I've NEVER had any movement of the block within the lower using the spikes so the selling point of the Hahn being dedicated is kind of overblown in my opinion. The spikes appears to copy the Hahn design, added some improvements, an sells it for less $. |
