Can anyone summarize the difference between the top and bottom loading 9mm mag block conversions from Hahn?  Other than the direction they are inserted

Does only the bottom have bolt hold open on last round?  Is one more secure or adjustable than the other?  Is one less finicky?  Which is faster and easier to install?

Magblocks
The major magblock manufacturers are Hahn and RRA (spikes makes a
version of the RRA block). These are one piece blocks that are ether
installed from the top or the bottom of the magwell. The RRA style block
is a bottom loader and has a tension mechanism that
you tighten to snug it into the magwell. All of these blocks are good to
go. There is very little difference in the function of all of these
blocks except that the bottom loaders allow for some vertical
adjustment of the block.
Hahn offers a top loading, bottom loading as well as a dedicated block  (you need to remove the bolt catch to install it).

Both the hahn bottom loader and dedicated block will have last round
bolt hold open using a standard .223 bolt catch. The top loader requires
a long finger 9mm bolt catch to engage last round bolt hold open. This
dedicated 9mm bolt catch does not work with a .223 upper. You have a
choice with a top loader, you can ether use the 9mm bolt catch and have
BHO and it becomes a dedicated 9mm lower, or use a .223 bolt catch and
have no BHO (but a swappable block without tools).

I prefer the Hahn dedicated. No adjustment necessary and it uses the regular bolt catches. Mine runs like a champ.

Also, use Metalform mags.

This says it all.  I run the same block with metalforms and the gun runs like a sewing machine.

Yep, using it in mine with Metalform mags, no issues whatsover.  The magwell in my lower was extremely tight and I had to smack the Hahn block into place with a piece of wood and a hammer.

How do you know how much to adjust on these? If you get the top loader how does it tighten and stay in? Same question for the other two also.

I have the dedicated Hahn 9mm block in my in-progress 9mm AR pistol build.  There is no worry about the dedicated block staying in place, I had to smack it in with a rubber mallet, then installed the bolt catch.  It isn't going anywhere.  I am still shy an upper, so I don't know how it runs yet, but magazines lock in securely without any wobble and drop free nicely (metalform 32 rounders, all I have).

I've used both a Hahn dedictated and a Spikes Tactical block.  They are both 100% GTG with metalform mags.  I've NEVER had any movement of the block within the lower using the spikes so the selling point of the Hahn being dedicated is kind of overblown in my opinion.  The spikes appears to copy the Hahn design, added some improvements, an sells it for less $.

Has anyone tried the promag ones?  Do they suck as expected?

I have the Hahn dedicated.

Works great with both C Products and Metalform mags.
