Looking at putting together a 5.7, just checking to see if there is any special requirements to do this? Do I need a 9mm hammer or buffer? Any other advice would be appreciated, I did do a search on 5.7 upper with no returns.
Thank you for your help, |

Yep, the required buffer comes with it.
Seems like a useful idea. I've got a LW pistol lower with a .357 SIG upper on it. I plan on doing the SBR thing but still haven't started. And I'm right on the verge of ordering the 11" barreled version of the AR57 upper. I can use it right away with the pistol lower. When it becomes a SBR, I will be able to easily swap back and forth between them. It all comes down to that innovative 50 round magazine. Can't get myself to fall in love with the PS90 but I'll be thrilled to be able to use that mag on an AR. Gregg |

I've got the 11 inch ar57 upper, a couple of things about it I don't like. First is it limits your sight options a bit with the mag mounting on the top like it does, it works best with a really short optic like a red dot. Second is the way the front of the handguard is slanted it does not allow you to use most normal 223 suppressors, I had mine milled straight so I could use my tac16 with it. The diameter of the suppressor is larger than the opening of the handguard, if the barrel was 1/2 in longer it would have worked as is. CMMG is suppose to be coming out with a normal ar15 upper in 5.7, no cool 50 round mag but I think they will have a custom 30 rounder. Just some things to think about. |
