Just got my Spikes .22 upper in M-4 config yesterday. Looking for suggestions for brand and type of ammo to put thru it for both semi and/or full auto use. Also, suggestions for suppressor as well. Saw a Utube video with a Silencerco Sparrow and it looked good. Any and all suggestions appreciated.
Also what mags are you guys recomending? |

Go to the Spikes forum in the 'Industry' section and read the stickies and discussions. The variables have been covered in detail better there than can be done here, to the point that after reading that you'll have very few specific questions that you still might need to ask. I'm not brushing you off with a quick answer. There are answers there you won't think to ask the questions for yet. (Speeling.) |
| I'm running a SilencerCo 22Sparrow on a Spike's 5.5" upper, and it does great. I also run the 22Spaarow on my P22 & 10/22 with good results. Did they just come out with a steel core model? Not sure. Mine is under 500 on the S/N and I love it. Ammo goes well with Winchester bulk pack, and Federal bulk goes well. I may try some CCI after I return to the States, but I haven't ran any CCI bulk yet. Full auto may be a little trickier; can't tell you about that as I haven't run any F/A .22LR. |

I have the same M4 config on my upper from Spikes and have used only Wally World 550 Federal bulk pack. Live in NY so I can only dump 10 rounds at a time. I have over 3000 rds through it and never had a stopage! For cleaning I only used CLP on the carrier once in that time. Problem is I let my daughter shoot it! She claimed her inheritance early |
| I have the same uppper, Federal works great and I found Winchester is good to go. Everything I have tried is good except for Remington and standard velocity ammo. Also make sure you use plated ammo as I have had problems with basic lead bullets. Dedicated 22lr uppers are great, look at cost of 22lr vs 5.56, what not to love. Great trigger time. |
