I'm looking to build my first 9mm AR. My questions are:

1) Are 9mm barrel lengths measured the same as 223/5.56 barrels?

2) Do 9mm barrels use the m4 style feedramps?

3) Does anyone make a H-Bar profile or medium profile barrel in 9mm?

4) What are the best sources for 9mm barrels?

1) Yes, rod dropped to the closed bolt face, and marked at the furthest permanent part of the barrel.
2) Colt-system 9mm uppers do not use feedramps - the feedramp is part of the magazine block.  Oly system 9mm uppers use a different barrel extension/feeramp, not M4 style.
3) You can order anything you want.  Most stock 9mm barrels are already what would be considered heavy-profile for .223.
4) At least a dozen. Colt, Rock River and Olympic come immediately to mind, but you need to use your search-fu to google other suppliers.

Spikes has good 9mm barrels, too.
