I had a chance to go shooting today with the New Evolution 22 Conversion. It may well be my last chance
before I have surgery on Thursday. I have a trigger finger release on my right ring finger. It seems that this
procedure is more complex than it was 14 years ago. I had the same problem with my left middle finger.
I don't remember being down at all for it then. Dr. is saying 2 weeks minimum. That Sucks.

A buddy Conea01 was at the range testing a Glock 30 he just bought so I had him shoot too. I couldn't shoot
accurately worth a crap. Don't know what the problem was but I'll blame it on my finger. Conea01 got some
pictures of the rifle and the target he shot... He's supposed to put them up with a write up here. He had a flier
but only one and it was operator error. He was trying to get the rifle to set right on a folded up bipod. It was all
at the wrong height and his first round pulled down.

The pictures below were taken before I'd cleaned the conversion unit. The brass part on the chamber adapter
is there to hold the conversion in a tight position while in the chamber. It may look damaged but it's because of the
contrasts from not being clean. The picture on the right gives a better view. I wiped the chamber adapter off before
I took that one.. You can see that it's a tight fit in the barrel extension by the marks on the brass.

The conversion had 2 rounds that didn't chamber the first time. I honestly believe it was inconsistencies of the round
prior to the ones that didn't go bang. The hammer wasn't reset either time and the round was still in the magazine.
Both went off when chambered. All total, ran 50 rounds each of Winchester 555, Winchester Wildcat and CCI Mini
Mags. They cycled perfectly other than those 2 times I mentioned, both were 555's. Live round extraction worked
every time I tried it and the case ejection was strong and consistent.

I like the chamber adapter stabilizer. I'd like to try one of those.
Good luck with the surgery. I've had that one as you know.

The brass part is held on with a clip. It will be upgradeable in the future. For now this part
does a very good job. This bolt is one of the smoothest I've shot. Conea01 commented
how smooth everything about this rifle and kit were. It's one of my favorite rifles, I've really
got it tricked out.

This is a quick shot of a 10 round try at the new CMMG set up that SpecOPs had generously offered me.

I need to preface that the shooting conditions were nearly unbearable. It was so hot and humid that sweat was difficult
to keep out of the eyes, and safety glasses were constantly fogging. After shooting for 10 minutes on the line, my T-shirt
was literally drenched thoroughly.

Be that as it may, I managed a fairly respectable group despite my initial low flier that I will attribute to a lack of my usual
rest and the folded bi-pod. I'm going to compare the fit, finish and feel to the difference between driving a Yugo and a Mercedes.
The unit made me feel like a better shot- the over all crisp, tight feel, the consistent, firm ejection of spent rounds, and (can you believe?)
actual ejection of live rounds manually!

I watched SpecOps shoot quite a few rounds from CCI, Federal, Winchester Wildcat, and saw not one failure to fire or eject!

I would love to see if this conversion's incredible traits transfer to my Spikes rifle... (hint, hint, Spec? haha!)

Impressive thumbs up- thanks for the impromptu opportunity, Spec!
Now I'm with envy!!!

Indoors shootin ? (In the Summertime??) (On nice days ???) & you pay money to do so ????)

Actually, I paid for a membership. In the colder months, you can see your breath just like shooting outside.
Summertime, it's a free sauna whenever ya shoot. I weigh myself before I go and generally loose 3 to 5 lbs.

Conea01 mentioned Federal ammo, I actually didn't take any this time, it was Winchester 555. His group that's
shown is actually 555's. It's 10 rounds at 25 yards. I should hire him to do my shooting, atleast until my right
hand gets back to normal.

CMMG is really impressing the hell out of me with their new Evolution system. Harley Davidson came out with
what they called the Evolution Motor in 1984. They impressed the entire biker world for a long, long time to come.
I believe we have the same thing here. Everything I've tested has rated very high in innovation and quality. At the
prices all this "Neat Stuff" is selling for, it's impossible for me to find a down side. And, CMMG is dedicated to
customer satisfaction. Those of us who have been around AR-22's for a while have seen it time and again. They
go the extra mile.

There are a number of great companies building conversions and dedicated uppers, I could name them but if you've
read my posts, you know who they are and how their products performed. I've never tested anything that was a bad
product. They all deserve your consideration. When it comes right down to which you purchase, that's in your hands.
I write it like it is and ultimately the choice is yours.

So what's the difference between this cmmg evolution 22 conversion, and their older 22 conversion??  I've got the older model that's all black, and I've never had a problem with it.  It always feeds properly, ejects brass, ejects live ammo, etc.  And this was in 3 different ARs, 2 DI and a piston.

Did I just get lucky with a decent cmmg conversion, or is this new system better in some aspect that I'm missing??

Your conversion ejects live rounds? I envy you.

I'm sending mine in with $20 for the upgrade.

No need to envy me.  I just went outside to reconfirm the fact that it'll eject em properly, and I couldn't get it to do it again. The round would slide partially out and then it'd double feed.

I only tested it ejecting live rounds once, when I was first testing the unit out, and I had sprayed a bunch of CLP into it, so maybe that had something to do with it..?

Anyways, sorry for any confusion my dumb ass created.

I just called and spoke with Angie over there, and after putting me on hold to check, informed me that they are not going to be offering any upgrades...?

I just spoke with the Angies(there are three) about this.  You can send in your adapter and $20 and we will upgrade it to LRE.  Sorry, for whatever reason they were confused.  They told me you were interested in the bushing version. We do not have these ready to ship at this time.  Spec was doing some testing for us on that model.  It will be another month minimum on that feature.

Sorry about that
