I'm in the process of wrapping up my 1st SBR project (9mm AR) and have decided to with a 7.0 inch barreled upper.  I have been looking at the RRA uppers, but damn, 550-750$ for the upper alone

I want quality, and will pay this if need be, but was just wondering if anyone is running any other 7.0 inch upper with good results, without hurting the wallet so much??

Thanks in advance for any info!!

I have a 16" 9mm  Rock River with the YHM rail and railed gas block that the $600 PK upper has.  The rail is fat, and the gas block is heavy and clunky.  If you want Rock River and 7", I would spend $750 and get the PK upper with the DD rail and Vortex flash hider.  They can probably put whatever you want together, since they build them there.

If I was going to spend $750 and was willing to get a slightly longer barrel, I would get this:

For $763 you get a high quality BCM chrome lined barrel and a 9" Troy TRX rail.

Save yourself ten bucks and buy it directly from BCM.

$165 for spikes 7"

$160 for 9mm bolt adco

$85  for standard upper.

$130 for yhm rail.

$25 for charging handle.

$565 - I am not sure you are going to do it cheaper piecing it. The 9mm bolts are pricey.
