Looking to get an M4 type TacSol .22 upper soon, do these accept the standard type of rail systems out there? This build will be my son's for the most part and he wants to put some accesories on it. Thanks in advance.

Yes. I have DD Omega's on mine. I've taken the thing apart and it is all standard for purposes of aftermarket rail installations. I just got a AR22 (tac sol) and took off my handgurads to put some thicker guards on and the snap ring behind the delta ring kept popping off. So i put the stock gurads back on and was able to push the snap ring back down with some snap ring pliers.I have not done this much in the past but never had snap rings popping off. I was useing a handguard tool also.I might get a DD omga for it but wondering about that delta ring on it.Its the same one thats on a regular AR? |

I was useing a handguard tool also.I might get a DD omga for it but wondering about that delta ring on it.Its the same one thats on a regular AR? It is slightly different. On a normal AR you would have a hole in the Delta ring, a gap in the weld spring and a gap in the slip ring for the gas tube to go through. The Tac Sols Delta Unit doesn't have the hole or gaps, so they are different in that aspect, but it shouldn't make a difference in the guard installation. (The charging handle doesn't have a gas tube hole either) It may be your slip ring isn't tight enough or that it wasn't 100% in the barrel nut's groove (which I doubt because I know you would have seen that). While we are on the subject, the reason I found this out is I was going to put a fake gas tube on to keep the front hand guard cap from spinning with the Omegas. I changed the Delta Unit out. After that I realized that it didn't matter because the Tac Sol bolt does not have the low spot in the top/front to clear the gas tube like a Ceiner does. So the bolt would hit it, preventing it from going fully forward (into battery I guess). To resolve the hand guard cap problem I threaded the gas tube hole in the FSB and put a 10-24 x 5/16 screw through the cap into the FSB. I have a bad picture I'll post in a few. One note if you do this - you will have to take the FSB off to thread it. Mark a line on the barrel and the FSB to use as a reference for vertical alignment when you reinstall the FSB or you might get it canted - like I did. |

The panels are Knight's that I had laying around in the parts box. That scope in the knock off ACOG version...I got if off of ebay for $80. It a true 4X with the same reticule that the ACOG has, except it is not a Tritium version. The seller I got it from no longer sells on Ebay, I tried to buy another one. |

Yeah my snap ring must not be tight enough cause i can spin it around pretty easy after i snap it back on....hum ? |

Well, I was thinking too basically with my answer. I completely forgot the gas system
or actually the lack of one and all the provisions for it. Duh cool setups in the process of filling in what I missed RLR350 and Dog1. Very Nice. I put a YHM Diamond Carbine Length on my Bayer 8" with no gas system. It's held in place with 2 anti-rotation screws that bite into the supplied barrel/jam nut setup. You still have to line it up like there's a gas system. Spec

I had a Magpul MOE forearm on my Tac-Sol upper. It was a major PITA to install and take off. The snap ring on my upper had a tighter tolerance than it's larger caliber sibling.
I wanted a set-up that mirrored my center fire AR, and other than the ACOG clone, it does. Next I plan on putting a Aimpoint clone on it.. |
