I just bought an AR57 upper which came with a carbine buffer. I'd like to use an A2 stock, can I use either a standard A2 buffer or the special carbine buffer that came with the upper? I'm trying not to spend an extra $50 for the special rifle length buffer.

There is a spacer that costs maybe $10 (made of Delrin) that you just drop into the empty buffer tube and then install the carbine buffer and spring. Sorry to say I don't remember who sells them. Wait here long enough and somebody will show up with the answer.

Edit to say I found it! Brownells has it for $8. Buffer tube spacer
I know it says it's a 9mm buffer tube spacer but that is where it first started –– allows all the 9mm carbine buffers to be used in a rifle length buffer tube. Should work like a champ for you.
