Got back from the range, put about 400 rd's through my new CMMG Stainless kit
All I have to say is wow. This conversion is a great way to practice with the AR Platform. .22's went right were the sight post was aimed at, up to about 150 yrds. No grouping report as no paper targets were used, only metal. No failures of any kind untill the end of the 400, a few FTE's. The spent .22 would get closed in the bolt while extracting. Will clean it and give it another 400 today, and will post more results. As of right now, I would highly recommend this conversion for anyone with an AR15. ETA: Additional info = 1:9 twist, 16" M4 Profile barrel. Non - Rounded style Hammer ( RRA 2 Stage ) |

Alright, ran another 400 through it with no more hiccups, no FTE or FTF.
Overall I am very satisfied with this conversion. PICS:

Your going to find that you will need more mags for that conversion because loading every few minutes cuts into your range time. Just giving you a heads up that Black Dog is running a deal on Mags.
You buy 10 or more at $18.00 each you get 25% off. That comes out to $13.00 a mag. You can't beat that deal. |

Well, the kit I bought came with an extra 25 rd mag, and the range I go to is $10 all day, not any type of time limit. I understand where you are coming from when the range limits the time, but it is a small inconvenience that I'm willing to put up with. ETA: I actually have a year-membership at the range too, so range time if free for me. |
