[ARCHIVED THREAD] - changing barrels

I have a dedicated .22 upper with a carry handle, and was wondering if I could take the barrel off that upper and put it on a upper that doesn't have a carry handle.

The 2nd upper has a 556 barrel on it now but I would just like to switch the two. Thanks

Don't see any reason why not.....the carry handle has nothing to do with the internals of the upper receiver.

Action vise and barrel nut wrench are all you need (well, and a bench vise).

Absolutely right, a 1/16" roll pin punch to remove the gas tube roll pin off the 5.56 upper will help too. Action vise is critical to holding the upper!
