It seems like there are 30rd mags for EVERY OTHER system out there, including the VZ-22... Has anyone tried any of these to see if they fit the DPMS unit? I'm thinking the VZ mags *might* because the 2 kits look very similar... 10rds is just too SMALL... |

The DPMS/Colt mags have the ejector on the left feed lip of the mag. I think that's what makes it hard to duplicate. The conversion unit can be modded (machining required) to accept the BDM Ciener mags but the mag has to have a ejector rigged up too. Someone posted a modded unit and mag a while back. Depending on how he does that, it may lend itself well to the creation of a metal feed lip insert that will have an ejector built in just like the DPMS mags. Just an FYI for those with DPMS kits - it is possible to convert a Ciener bolt to work in a DPMS upper and some here have done that - maybe not the ideal solution as it would probably end up costing another $150-200, but better than nothing if you want hi-cap capability. |
