what is the recommended bulk type ammo for a CMMG conversion kit? that wont be too expensive...
maybe not the recommended, but the bulk sized ammo that MOST kits run well with? i know each kit it going to be different, just like rifles and rifle ammo. but there has to be a brand/type of ammo that the vast majority of kits run with... i don't need match accuracy or anything special out of it, all i want to do is train with my rifle more, and more cheaply then using .223/5/56 ammo which i just cant afford to shoot as much as i would like. Thanks for answering this noobish question, T_A |

Federal Load #745 is the exact same ammo. Red, White, Blue and Black Box. 525 rounds, more expensive than WalMart though...
http://www.federalpremium.com/products/details/rimfire.aspx?id=54 . I tried one box of 50 Winchester Wildcat and it worked too, atleast in my conversions. SpecOps-13 PS: I changed the Federal Load # to the correcct 745... |

I've had a few suggestions for match ammo but haven't been able to find any supply of it. I have a couple Spike's Dedicated Uppers that I want to use it in and see if it's possible to improve on 25 yard, 5 shot groups. Federal 711b, Wolf MT/ET, Lapua/SK, Eley, or RWS have been suggested, any other thoughts or whereabouts of a supply of this? I haven't found it yet. Then when I'm able to fire other dedicated uppers, I'll have Match Ammo on hand for advanced testing.
