Can you run a 9mm bolt and buffer with a regular CAR spiring. I was told I will need a heaver spring.

I use a normal carbine spring in my RRA. I use a RRA 9mm bolt and 9mm buffer.

It works just fine,  but springs can vary so nothing is 100% certain. Try it, it most likely will be just fine.

I run all of my AR's (9mm or other) with standard AR15/M16 action springs from Brownells - 3 pack for about $5-6.

Various manufacturers/resellers offer 9mm specific as well as reduced and extra power action springs, plus regular and CS, but none really indicate any specs.

If you want to know the difference, you'd have to buy one of each, make up a spring gauge and check them on a scale.
