I see al ot of talk about Spikes and other brand .22 AR's and was wondering I plan on having a 100% dedicated .22 AR rifle. Who makes the best .22 AR or .22 Upper?

Spikes is the most available.
They are high quality too. Other manufacturers are coming on line now like cmmg and the colt complete .22.

Spikes has a great bolt that is easy to clean nickle finish.  cmmg is a ciener clone bolt not bad but spikes went the extra mile to improve on the design a bit.

I'm pleased with my Spikes .22 upper. Real quality.

Personally, I liked it so much that I ordered a 5.56mm upper from them a few weeks after.

The Colt is NOT a real AR. No compatible innards or mags.

Spike's Tactical's ST-22, Model 1 Sales' .22s, and probably CMMG (haven't laid hands on one) are the pick of the more affordable ones. All use Atchisson/Ciener compatible mags.

For even better accuracy, Accuracy Speaks and Compass Lake Engineering make match quality uppers in National Match, Space Gun, and Varmint configurations for $1000+.

CLE uses the M-261 bolt exclusively, while AS will do barrels for any of 4 or 5 different bolt systems.

Pick your lower.

You can duplicate any .223 configuration in .22

I want a standard M4 clone in .22. Who makes the best one regardless of price. I will be placing it on a Noveske lower if ony get the upper but may buy the whole rifle but have not decided as of yet.

Spikes is definitely the way to go for a dedicated 22 AR. You can't beat the group buy they are having right now. $100 for a Spike's lower. Buy a few more for future projects!! !

Wow the M4 upper with 2 BDM mags is $550 in that section.   I currently have the CMMG upper but seeing that makes me really want to make a second upper purchase.

I think there used to be a bit of competition in this arena.  Then Kurt, of Kurt's Kustom Firearms went and died.  Now it's Spike's, a BIG gap, and then everyone else.  And there ain't that many others in the market.

I'm EXTREMELY happy with my Spike's .22 upper.  With the can and Fed. Bulk pack it's been 100% reliable.

I have a Tactical Solutions 22 upper that works great.  They have been around for a while.
