I purchased a new CMMG conversion unit from Brownells. I've had lots of feeding problems that are now going away after 300 rounds or so. Just returned from the range and noticed fired brass that landed in my range bag. All of them were bulged in one spot just above the rim. It looks like they are bulging at the ramp. Ammo used included Federal bulk pack, Federal Auto Match and CCI Mini-Mags.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks.  That's EXACTLY what is happening on mine. Mine is bulging Federal bulk ammo, however. Brownell's said send it back, but I'll contact CMMG on their forum to see about a replacement chamber insert. Sounds like that would be faster.

Thanks again.

BTW, I will look at the pics tonight.  I minor mis-shaped case is normal, I should be able to determine by the pics if it is excessive.  If it is a bad chamber insert we can replace it, if not the trouble shooting will have you up and going your next trip out.  Either way, piece of cake
