I would like to create a thread that list all the manufactures of 22 lr coversion kits, uppers, and complete rifles. If this is a duplicate thread I apologize. Since I am new to the 22lr I need everyone's help. Please let me know of the companies that you know make 22lr, if possible please post a link to their site. I will update my posting at the top and hopefully we can create a 22 LR manufactures guide to help anyone who is shopping for a 22 LR.
Conversion Kit Ciener CMMG Spikes Tactical Olympic Arms Dedicated Upper Spikes Tactical Olympic Arms Tactical Solutions Model 1 Sales (Also sells Ciener conversion kits) Campus Lake Engineering Complete RIfle Spikes Tactical Campus Lake Engineering Magazines Black Dog Machine Interesting information contributed by Edlmann: There are at least five different formats of .22 conversion kits out there, which are not interchangeable: 1) Atchisson/Ceiner/CMMG/SpikesTactical, etc. Still in production and probably the predominant format these days. 2) M-261 (USGI)/Olympic Arms. Still in production by Olympic Arms. 3) Colt/DPMS. Out of production, can be found. IIRC DPMS mags will work with Colt, but not vice versa. 4) V-22. Status unclear; may not being imported at this time. 5) USAF conversion. Occasionally available used. 6)? Bushmaster dedicated upper. Don't know if this one is unique or a modified version of one of the others. Each of these formats offers a similar solution to the same question, but in a different enough format that the magazines won't interchange, although Black Dog Machine can modify their M-261 magazine so that it will work. Thanks and keep the information coming. |

FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda. Regards, Ed Mann Bobby Bowden is doing a fine job - just leave him alone. Albert says, "Click here for free Gator wallpaper."

Compass Lake Engineering does uppers and complete rifles for Highpower shooters. They'll also do them not as fancy but you have to call for pricing.

Any of these have a bolt-hold-open feature? It seems like one of the conversions, or maybe it was magazines for them did it. The USAF conversion is the only one with that uses the standard bolt catch/release. However, reports are that reliability of that feature is spotty. BDMs use the follower to lock the bolt open, but of course the bolt closes when the magazine is removed. |

PS- I am working on verifiny (sic) the Olympic Arms Information, I have found nothing on their website. Click here for Oly's pretty useless web page on conversion systems.
