Anyone make a 9mm AR barrel with threads for a UZI supressor. I have a thread adaptor but would love to have a dedicated upper for my AR. About 7 inches, because the UZI full auto can is so long. This would be for my regestered SBR of course.
Thanks in advance to all that can help. |

Hal did you send him the AR barrel or will he have some on hand? Should I use a crome lined or regular. Its not for full auto just a regestered SBR. The AR barrel seen in previous post above is one he did that belongs to somebody over at subguns.com.. the owner wanted a way to use his Uzi can on a short AR/M16 barrel, so "Joe" took and sleeved the barrel so it could sport Uzi thread and look like Uzi out front. Joe took and sent me pics of the work via e-mail before he sent the barrel back to the owner. If you buy a LAGE barrel for the M11 that is "blank" out front,,,,,, you need to verify that is approx 1.020" OD to accept the 26mm x 1.5 thread for the Uzi mounting. |

Just noticed no where for the gas tube? Correct Will this convert it to a blow back design. "COLT" pattern and "OLY" pattern are both blowback. Will I need a special buffer? Buffer is about weight,,, I would not use anything less than the std rifle buffer weight of 5.2oz, but my buffer has a brass dowel inside, bringing weight to 7.0oz, I use it with both 9mm and my 7.5" and 11.5" .22/5.56 uppers. What size are you running? Rifle buffer weighing in at 7.0oz (brass dowel machined and polished for slip fit in the std A2 buffer body) Am I missing anything else? Think about it, and ask if it comes to mind, but basically everything is std AR/M16 as far as upper & lower, you is just sticking a 9mm barrel in the front of the upper, 9mm bolt cycles back and forth just like its 5.56 brother, it all comes down to a mag block to take up the extra space in the AR/M16 magwell, a magazine to hold the ammo, and some added buffer weight to hold the bolt shut a wee bit longer so you don't get a bunch of blast debris out the eject port.Thanks. |
