I had been thinking of trying this and saw where it would work so I modified 5 of my BDM's. They work great and now a dealer friend is wanting me to mod several of his mags. I made a jig to accurately mill the slot on my milling machine in case I decided to do more of them. Can you guys give me an idea of what it would be worth to you to have this mod done?

I don't know as I would want to mill material that far up into the feedlip area. That is where I have had a couple of failures...but I like the idea of making them a bit easier to use.

It has to go that high for the follower to go all of the way up. I've run several thousand rounds thru them in fullauto without any noticeable change to the feedlips. Everyone that has used them and found how quick and easy you can load a mag have loved them. I guess time will tell.

If you use the "hold open" followers you should have to go nearly as high.

If I modify mags that have those followers, I will adjust the cut. I happen to have the old style and cut them accordingly. I have one that even has the cut all of the way out of the end. Works flawlessly.

If I were you I'd buy the mags and do the mod and sell them as a modified BDM mag for $7-$8 bucks more. If you go too high nobody will buy them. Plus, BDM is already working on that same project.
I would also be concerned about the strength left in the feed ramp area.

Thank you Shadowcop for your reply. That's about the price I was thinking. I had a suggestion of $ 8 to $10, but I can't see that. I wouldn't pay it myself. I just know shooting .22's is alot more fun when your thumb doesn't hurt from loading! I find myself going thru more ammo though...
