Tried out my new 9mm beta mag in my M16 the other day and could not get the gun to run with it. It would always jam after several rounds with a stovepipe or a ftf or both. This was either in semi or fa, same thing. Most of the time it would jam with a round going about half way up the feedramp Colt and C-product mags run flawlessly. I can also cyle it by hand and no problems. I always use the graphite when I load it up. I'm using a LRM suppressed M169 upper, bolt was ramped by Lee at LRM, hahn bottom mag block, hahn super heavy sub cal 9mm buffer, and eithier a AAC recoil spring or standard colt carbine spring.

I though I might be over buffering it with the Hahn buffer but If I dont use the Hahn super heavy buffer I get wicked trigger slap in fa when using lighter buffers or the AAC rate reducing buffer. I tried it anyway with the AAC buffer and the Beta would still not feed. Does anyone have any suggestions on this. I feel like I just wasted $250 bucks on the Beta!

Pretty much. For 250 bucks you could have bought 17 32rd magazines and had 544 rounds on tap.

Do you have another 9mm you can try the magazine in?

I run mine with a Garrison Mfg 7.5" upper, using the Hahn mag block and it runs flawlessly (H2 buffer). While I haven't had the same problem you describe with the Beta, I have had that problem (stovepipes and ftf) recently with a couple of the CP magazines (never with the Colt mags).  The CP problem turned out to be a problem with the follower binding and not providing sufficient spring pressure.  I doubt that is the case with the Beta.

I had the same problem with my Beta at a subgun match this past weekend on the first stage.  It was the first time using that magazine in a match.  I tested it out the day before and it seemed to work fine.  I ran Colt mags the rest of the day and they worked flawlessly.

What where you using for ammo? I would hope it round nose jacketed, lead and flat nose oviously are not the greatest

My beta mag runs flawless with a RRA mag block.

I only have the one gun and the LRM upper to try the Beta in. I think I might try to play around with some heavier recoil springs for the ftf"s. And maybe a stiffer extractor spring with a d-ring or o-ring under it for the stovepipes. But I dont know since the normal 32 rd mags work fine.
