Not AR related mods move it if you need to.

I have an old single shot .22LR rifle I would like to have rechambered into .22 mag. Can someone point me in the right direction? thanks in advance.

Depends on the rifle and action.  The .22 mag is a whole different cartridge from the .22LR in terms of pressure and, IIRC, bore diameter.

Rechambering to mag is probably not feasible.

YMMV

Its a bolt action single load single shot. Its a Colt I 22. Very very accurate. We shoot pennies off 2X4s at 100 yards with it any day of the week. With a scope of course.

Yes Ive thought of this and my rifle "i think" should have plenty enough barrel material to handle the .22MAg. I have one of those dinky little American Arms mini revolvers chambered in 22 mag and the rifle I would like to convert has tons more meat in the chamber area than the little revolver. I would like to find a smith though that could confirm or disapprove my thoughts. The .22 mag does fit into the feed area.

No, different bullet diameters.

22LR and 22Mag are not the same.  Get a relaoding manual or look up the specification off the internet.

Just because they share the "22", doesn't mean they are the same bullet, let alone compatible.
