I was considering getting a .22 upper for my ar and have started shopping for decent prices. anyone have any advice? Do I need to purchase anything special besides an upper? I tried searching but got no results. |

I have one of the MODEL1 22 uppers. I tricked it out with some high end stuff and have used it so far for one bowling pin match that we have here local. When I first put everything together I put it on a lower that ha a JP trigger kit in it and had many fail to fire light strikes because of the light JP kit hammer spring. I changed the sping out to a standard weight AR sping and all is well. I really like the thing for what I am using it for, and with the Blackdog Machine 2nd gen mags, it looks exactly like my M4. I will be taking it apart for cleaning before my next pin match as it looks like it may need to be kept real clean to function well, but then so do my 10-22's. I'm thinking about getting a spare bolt group in case something breaks at a match, but thats just a me thing. Wish I could post pics but I have never put enough time into figuring it out.
