Been having problems with colt magazines (preban, metal follower) jamming in a colt 9mm w/colt mag block (FTFeed). 115gr FMJ Wolf, Barnaul, WWB. Figured it was the springs getting old or worn.

Decided to get some Wollf Colt 9mm springs. installed the springs and have not shot it yet, but cycling by hand, still getting feed problems, plus with the new springs, the things are almost impossible to load after 8 rounds, this makes me think the follower might be binding inside the mag.  Plastic promags feed & shoot flawlessly, and are much easier to load, even to full capacity.

I don't have a answer to the problem, but I have a owned a Colt 9mm since '91 and haven't had any problems with the 20rd mags. I bought two 30rd mag in 94 from a machine gun shop, they were sold to me as is, which should have been a warning sign. I only used them once and had problems with feeding, it acts like the follower doesn't want to push the rounds up. I like you have just bought the wolf springs but haven't been out to try it. Both the 20 & 30 rd mags are very hard to load by hand, I used to put the rounds on the table and push the mag up side down on the rounds to load, now I use a mag loader.

I have had problems with several of the preban mags.
Nothing seemed to fix them.
Sold them and bought the new ones with the plastic follower.
Came to the conclusion that the metal followers are not as reliable.

And BTW they are 32 round mags in 9mm.
30 round mags are for 5.56

Is there a plastic follower made for the Colt mags?
