Before you abuse me, I just wanted to ask if anyone has tried the vulcan 9mm ar15? I have seen them over on the gunbroker and was curious. I realize they are considered crap around here but I just wanted to hear from someone who has shot or handled one.
Thanks

Well,

I'm going to buy one of their uppers and mag blocks. I figure for $300 I'll test it out. If it works well I'll buy a DPMS complete lower for it, a crapload of mags and turn it into a dedicated carbine.

If it doesn't, I'll list it on gunbroker as a "fixer" and take a $50 dollar loss. If I were you I'd try the upper first before dropping $550 for a complete gun that could have lower issues from cheap parts.

Never shot a Vulcan but I'm the type that can't turn away from a cheap carbine. That said, for the same money you can get a complete CX4 Storm that has consistently gotten rave reviews from nearly everyone for two straight years.

Someone named "ninner" over at gunsnet just had one and said it was a POS. Apparently the extractor wouldn't fit over the rim and it was just typical Hesse/Vulcan/whatevertheirnextnameisgoingtobe garbage. I'm not sure what the rules are about linking other boards, but I believe you can get his at a discount if it's still avail.

Personally I wouldn't buy one at a $100 loss from orig price, esp if the owner is basically telling you it's shit. Sometimes I will take a risk on a company w/ a spotty reputation, but the fact that they keep changing their name to disguise the fact that they sell pure trash worries me.

Someone is going to get hurt one day for shooting Hesse/Vulcan...

got one used a while ago. the bolt had the bottom portion welded together (not sure if that was a repair or the way vulcan designed it). it also consistently FTE and FTF

Sounds like a typical Hesse job to me... I think they must run a welding skool at night!

You'd be better off strapping a baloney sandwich to your upper than rockin' a Hesse!

That's the reason I asked this question in the first place. Many thanks to you guys for all the great information. I will go with a RRA or Olympic. Not sure which just yet.
