I need help with doing this. I have DPMS 9mm upper that I am trying to remove the Free-Float tube on and can't seem to get it to turn. I have have soaked it for days in WD-40 and nothing. I tried agin tonight and just destroyed my strap wrench. Any help?

You should have the upper clamped into an armourers block, use your propane torch and heat up the threads that hold the handguard on. (Not the barrel nut).

Then use your strap wrench, A BIG ONE, and then pray that you wont break it again.

If you are intending on taking your barrel nut off, which it sounds like you may be, make sure you use the correct tools, or you will be buying them along with new parts for your gun.

You will need a barrel nut wrench, and an armourers block to correctly remove your barrel nut.
