I am doing my first 9mm AR and have a question. Does/should the bolt hold open device work with a 9mm bolt? Mine will hold for a few seconds and then slam shut when I try to slid the charging handle forward.

The device seems to be moving the same amoubt of play as on my other ARs and looks to be in working order. I just didn't know with the 9mm bolt being differant if it will hold open. Thanks.

Upper is Talon Arms PDW 9mm built from RRA upper. Lower is a RRA lower.

This is the second post in a day that seems to describe 9mm AR BHO issues.

I'm not saying I'm glad but I've got a factory RRA 9mm A4 that the BHO hasn't seemed right on since receiving it new.  On RRA's behalf, the moderator here at the site has given me the green-light to send it back but I'm holding off until summer's over so I can enjoy my carbine during that time.

I initially had two Colt 32-round mags that would lock it open after the last round or when manually cycled when empty, but if the carbine was tilted slightly (or looked at funny), the bolt would slam shut even with the mag still in the magwell.  If I lock the bolt back manually, the same thing will happen with slight movement of the carbine.

I realize my post doesn't assist you in any way but sometimes if you aren't the only one under-dressed at a party you don't feel so bad.
