Hi all,

Newbie here.

I just want to hear from youall that have any 22LR uppers for your AR platform, what brand they are and how well they work for you.  also if you had to do any fixes to make them work better or if they are ammo choosey or any other things before buying one.

edit.  BTW, im looking for a dedicated upper, not conversion kit/insert.

Thanks

I have the DPMS M4, very reliable and accurate, works like a champ, I am extremely fond of it. No mods except sights, which of course you have to add, as it's a flattop.

I have two of the DPMS upper--an M4 and an 20" A2. They both work fine out of the box. I have been shooting CCI Mini Mag, Aguila High Velocity, and Winchester Dynapoints. I have had bad luck with Remington, so stick with what works.

If you buy a DPMS, the beast price I have found on magazines has been from Midway USA.

Compass Lake Engineering spacegun .22LR upper here, Krieger 20" barrel.  Unfortunately, it likes Ely Ultimate EPS the best - expensive.  But, Wolf Match Extra is not far behind at $4 / box.

It is set up for benchrest, and is starting to shoot well enough to give a try at beating the super-custom modified 10/22's at the local BR matches.

That's the optics-only bull-barrel one.  Can't find the M4 & A2 ones on their site.

after the site loads, look at the left and press the "22LR" button.

wait for the page to load and the A4s are last 2 rifles on the page.

That's how I found this one.  ".22LR" on the left, get "Barrel Assembly" as the only choice on the right, pick that and you get just the bull barrel one.  Searches for variations of ".22LR" only turn up this one too.  <shrug>  Maybe once they're back in production next year they'll have them on the site again.

If youre using the link from Mike_L,

try clicking on the Panther in the upper lift.  It will take you to the home page.

then, try it.

It appears my bookmark for DPMS went straight to their online store, which doesn't have their full line...

Has anyone tried the dpms .22 upper with a short barrel, say 10"?  I'd like to get a dedicated .22 upper for my SBR but want to make sure it'll still function properly first.

thats was my original intetion.

from what i understand, the SBR in 22lr shouldnt be an issue since its blowback operated.

It's nice to hear someone else wants the same thing.  10" barrel & an outback 2 just sounds really fun.
