What is the typical accuracy out to 50 yds? Is 100 yds too far to expect any kind of accuracy? How far out will a 9mm have stopping power? I've just started to become interested in a 9mm build and am trying to see if it's what I'm looking for.

I have an Oly 9mm. I have not really sat down and shot groups or anything but just hacking around with the irons it seems to be fairly accurate. Mine has the fixed carry handle and I don't have a scope mount. I don't have much trouble hitting clays out on the 100yd berm. I don't think it will be a accuracy problem so much as a problem with bullet drop past 100yds or so . This needs some investigation,In other words I needs to shoot my oly more than I do!

Mine will shoot 147 grain rounds like it is candy.  Offhand 75 yard group with irons and a red-dot to co-witness was about 1/2"

Even surprised me.

I have shot it at longer ranges.  And it still worked just fine.  300 yards to a stell drum, witha 'pig' painted on the side.  Kentucky windage and elevation.  First shot was through the 'lungs' second shot was through the stomach area.

Had witnesses.

But, I also knew to stop after hitting it twice.  LOL

I think I was holding about 10 feet over the barrel.

For what it is worth, I went to the range a few weeks ago and brought my suppressed 9mm Ar with me and at 100 yards my grouping was just about 4 inches with an aimpoint sight.  I used the Mag' to prop-up the weapon and wha-la...as far as its punch goes I shot at a fairly high pace which toppled the pepper-popper.

Thanks for all the responses, this is what I needed. It is nice to know that the 9mm AR is accurate out past 50 yds. All I need now is the wife's ok to throw down the loot.

I can smash a can at 100 yards no problem.
