I was looking through the forum and saw some things on 22LR conversions. What i want to know is how many different conversions out there for 22LR?

I would like to keep my same upper but would like also to get a conversion that i can put a huge 22 clip on the AR. Is there such a conversion? Are they all standardized?

If you want to keep the same upper and just drop in a 22lr conversion that has high capacity mags, I think your only choice is the Ciener. The various military conversions also would work, but no "huge clips".

the Ciener conversion look really easy all u do is pop the bolt out and stick the new one in! is there any draw back to this? i've read other conversion that u have to do alot of modification.

Yes, they are really that easy. Only drawbacks are that they are not match-grade target shooters, and can clog your gas system and lead your barrel after extended use. Both are really non-issues if you just want to shoot and have fun. Leading and clogged gas systems can/will be cleaned out after firing regular .223 ammo.

My experience with the Ceiner shows that it is very ammo sensitive,some ammo shoots fine some great and sone horrible.I am talking about accuracy here.In my bushmaster 1/9 twist standard uppers I have found the standard vel target type ammo is great.Wolf MT,CCI STD and Subsonic,Fed target all work fine to great.Pmc Zapper is the only high vel stuff that shoots well
I love my 30 rd mag for blasting,and the short 10 round when shooting off the bench.

I'm not really concerned about accuracy with 22 in the AR but i will keep that in mind. Thax.

with my ceiner converted carbine bench rested I get about 1" groups at 50 yards, and 2-3inch groups at 100 yards. Not bad considering I'm shooting the cheapest ammo I can find, and the front sight covers 4" at 100 yards.
