I picked up a ASA 9mm upper and receiver block at a gun show and I'm having some feeding problems with the gun.  I like the design and I like that it uses Uzi mags (colt style).  I was wondering if others have had this kind of problem also and is there an easy fix.  I'm having the same type of failer to feed jam each time where the round flips up into the to the top of the barrel. Like a stovepipe jam in a auto pistol.   I like it but if it will not run it's gone and I'll get one that does run..  Is the Olympic design any better really?  The ejector on the Oly is Funky thin wire I'm not liking that stuff.  Also mod sten mags are not the best  feeding magazines made either.   any ideas  Thanks  762 out

Is it doing this with all rounds or just the last 4 or so? If you are using Uzi mags and the followers are not bent this can happen when it gets to the last few rounds.  If so bend the followers so the rounds are flat.
If this is happening with all rounds then the mag is probably sitting too low in the magwell, so it is grabbing the top of the round instead of the back.

THANK YOU!

I have been looking for a solution to the same problem for months.  Modifying the followers did the trick!  Ooooh...can't wait to put the can on it now.

Thanks for the tip.   I'll give bending the followers a try first, not sure if that will help.  Some mags seem to run better then others so maybe I need a break in period for the gun. I have one mag (25 rd) that I got with the gun from ASA, it is a ASA kit (so the mag came with it), but it was also doing the same thing.  So I'll see if I can fix the problem.  I mod. the 32 rounders my self and they lock so I can't see them sitting too low in the receiver block but I can see the angel of the feeding ramp or the feed lips or follower being the problem.  I thought about bending the feed lips slightly I'd rather not, do that.  I want a flawless running sub cal gun, I thought the AR- 9mm would hold it's own with the HK-MP5 / 94 type but if not maybe I'll have to get one of those but I'm looking at a lot more $$$ on that one.  I was looking at OLY conversion and I liked the way the bolt and barrel was designed it looked like they would have ABSOLUTLY NO FF PROBLEMS but the ejector system was lame, looking weak, a wire for an ejector.  I want the bol face t and barrel of olympic design and the carrier and magazine block of the colt system.  Maybe I'll have to build it.    Thanks again for you help.  B2B

I had the same feeding problem.  I replaced my uzi mags with Colt and Pro mags.  Now the weapon functions flawlessly.  Just make sure to stay far away from CCI Blazer 115 grain FMJ ammo.
