I'm building a AR pistol out of a pistol-registered stripped lower. Question is ... is the pistol buffer assemb from model 1 good? Or am I better off getting say a buffer tube from a telestock and just use that instead? (not the entire stock, just the tube and springs, so it's not a "stock" and making it a SBR.). Any advise would be appreciated. The objective here is to have a AR pistol that cycles properly and reliable. Parts: DPMS 7.5" upper. BM bolt assembly. BM lower trigger, hammer, grip, etc. Olympic stripped lower. Need a buffer tube and I'd be complete. |
I'm pretty sure this would still constitute an unregistered SBR in the eyes of the law. IMO you should stick with a pistol-specific set-up. |
HardShell - That's what I thought too after I saw a pic of a "pistol" in the AR pistol thread in the AR discussion section. I want this to be a LEGAL toy, I'll take Avengeusa's advise and order that pistol buffer system. Thanks guys. |

I knew I'd read a good thread on this subject recently! It just took me a minute to find it- SORRY! www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=202222 |
Really long pistol... think THE JOKER in the first BATMAN film. I can see it now - the AR15 Buntline Pistol! (the original Buntline was a Colt, after all! |
