Did you have to do any filing to get the ODIN mag release to work on that lower?

It worked, but not great.

Yeah I had to do a significant amount of filing in several spots to get it to work like it should.

Pricey.  I see primary arms has the spikes 9mm buffer on sale for $40, is why I asked.

9mm AR's aren't one size fits all. It can take some trial and error on finding the right buffer weight to run reliably.

Yes. Definitely pricey but worth it to me as I’ve heard horror stories about AR9 builds. The buffer seemed to always be the problem. Based on my research, this buffer seemed to fix almost all of them. It was a no brainer for me when I built mine.

First 9mm I’ve put together. The SBA3 is the first  race over ever owned it’s impressive for what it is and accomplishes.

Now I just need a suppressor for it. Any suggestions for a 9mm suppressor that will only be used on blow back carbines like this?
The more affordable the better but I definitely don’t want to piss my money away on junk.

Thanks!

Damn those are speedy. Any decent options around 4 or 5 hundred?

Figured I’d be okay with a direct thread as I will probably never remove it unless needed for cleaning.

Or should I really just pony up around a grand with the tax stamp and go for one of those you mentioned?

Thanks for the info!

there are other options, i'd go ask in the silencer forum for better answers - i use my obsidian 45 on my 9mm ar and it does what i want it to do while being able to swap it to my pistols

My new Left Handed, side charging, ambi mag release Glock mag compatible 9mm AR pistol from Gibbz Arms!

I wanted it to have an MP5SDish look:

It has a 4” KAK barrel, a cheap 7” eBay tube handguard and an MP5SD style cover over that.  To be honest, I am already over it with the SD look.  I will probably re-do it with a short handguard and maybe put together a 300 SD instead.

Hello all. First post here. I'm a long time AR guy that's been lurkin, readin and learnin. I built an AR pistol in 5.56 to start, then 7.62 x 39 just because it went with my other guns. Over the last couple of years or so the PCC thing has started really taking off and I've been waiting for a way to reliably run my Glock mags. First I thought about a dedicated 9mm lower, but in my mind, to dedicate a gun to 9mm didn't make much sense if you can spend the same money and convert an already built pistol lower and easily convert it to PCC. Anyways, I decided to go the Stern route. Here it is:

The details:

80% lower
Aero Precision M4E1 upper and 7.5 handguard
Ballistic Advantage 5.5 barrel
Stern Mag-Ad9, Nib bolt, hex can, dust cover and charge handle
Kak blade and buffer tube
FM extended 9mm 6.5 ounce buffer and standard carbine buffer spring
Tri Tech Glock pistol grip
Magpul BUIS and B.A.D. lever (Gotta say I love the BAD lever)
Palmetto Enhanced NiB trigger and hammer group

A red dot is soon to come. Maybe a Holosun or a Vortex, not sure yet.

I've put 2000+ rounds through it so far and am loving it. I'm hitting 4" steel consistently at 50 yards.

So anyways. Hi all!

Posted mine last year when first built but I've made some config changes

Its the one next to the FAL with the big fat hand guard tube.

PSA complete lower.  6pos stock replaced with A2 stock, kept carbine buffer spring and 9mm buffer, added a plug made from a 7/8" oak dowel to make up length difference in buffer tube
Trigger upgraded to PSA EPT unit, and KVP low pull weight springs swapped in.  Smoooooooth ..... about 4lbs
Anderson upper w/o dust cover or forward assist
Spinta blem bolt
NFA 16" barrel
Unknown A2 style flash hider w/ the 1/2x36 threads I needed
Bushnell TRS-25 3moa red dot
Gen4 Glock 33rnd 9mm mag
