Hi all,

I am new to this site, but I have a couple of questions. I have a Colt 6450 9mm. It has the standard A2 upper but I want to go the the A3 upper with the detachable handle. I have seen several of these and I am interested in doing this. Will a standard A3 upper (.223) work with mods or where can I find a 9mm A3 upper. If any of you have any ideas on how to do this or if it is a good thing let me know. I am open to suggestions. Thanks!

Swap the barrel to whatever upper you choose. May have to live with the 556 shell deflector and/or forward assist. Look around DPMS, Rock River, as I think some body offers uppers with slick sides.

Rock River has them - I bought one from Legal Transfers last year. ASA has them as wll and so does Colt if you can find them (perhaps www.sawlesales,.com). I have a barely used one for sale if you want. I bought it from the EE last year and have no use for it.
